Impaled has returned with their mind bulging debut release on
Century Media Records 'Death after Life' Oakland California is home to these master metallers, also to my favorite football
team Oakland Raiders.
Death after Life starts off with *Goverture* and if you are lucky
enough to make it through to the final track * Corta Morte* then you would be one of those chosen few to survive.
Impaled features newest guitarist-Jason Kocol- and Ross Sewage,
Raul Varel, Sean Mcgrath, and not to mention Trey Spruance (faith no more-mr.bungle) and now producer for the band.
Almost each song starts off with some kinda b-rated horror movie
sound clip. If you aren't a fan of Impaled you would think this entire album was a joke also with the very low end production
of the album and muffeled sounds. Not something you would except from Century Media.
Death after Life has changed musically a tad from the bands past
few releases. Impaled still has the influence of the legendary gore God fathers (Carcass) a lot of critics consider Impaled
to be rip off's.But who am I to judge,Alot of bands are compared to someone else one way or another.
Impaled combines Bay area thrashing riffs with assault pounding
grindcore wrekage. If you are a big fan of Impaled or Carcass then I do recommend this album to be apart of your gore infested
collection.
