Well, today was the day 3/19/2005 I got in the mail from Mazur Public Relations & Indecent
Media a CD from the band Havochate.
My 1st impression was the well done art work and printing layout on a heavy stock, very glossy finished
insert. It is very rare do you see this kind of quality now days on inserts. OK...enough about this CD cover lets get down
to what really is important the music.
Havochate is located somewhere in the vast regions of the Great Empire State that we call 'NEW YORK'
which today we still stand strong after the attacks of 9-11. Well, when I popped in this CD entitled 'Cycle of Pain' by Havochate
I immediately notice the great musicianship that this band has, to put together and produce a raging metal CD for the masses.
Also I noticed right of the bat was Greg Christian ex-Bass player for the legendary San Francisco
Bay Area Thrash band called 'TESTAMENT" you can clearly hear some of that style in Havochate.
Sometimes I find it hard to put a label on something that is this good, But you can clearly hear
a lot of great influences coming from this band. Such as Tim's vocals. seem to range from James H, Bruce D, and Randy Rampage.
But this music is real metal \m/. Tim mixes his vocal style from guttural vomiting growls to high priest opera screams.
The new sound that Havochate brings to it's listeners is a different approach we want to be challenging
but yet be ourselves..From the opening track 'Cycle of Pain' Havochate clearly show us what heavy metal should be keeping
true to their roots and influence's all the way thru to the closing title simply called'Rotting Hour.'
The overall sound and quality on this album is very good to say the least, very clean mastering
and production.Havochate is a metal band that we all needed to bring the metal back to it's feet, These guys are the band
of the newest millinium. So if you are a true metal head and a fans of such great acts as: Testament, Exodus, Judas Priest,
Pantera,
Then by all means what the FUCK are you waiting for an invitation
get off your lazy ass's and go support the metal scene and buy a copy of Havochates new release
