MZ666: How was the band formed?
Sami: ID: Exorcist was founded by Me(Sami - Guitars), Jyrki(Guitars), Ville(Drums) and Jaska(Vocals) on the year 2000. We are all
childhood friends so it was just natural for us to form a band. Tommi(Bass) came along summer
2004.

MZ666: Where did the band name originate?
Sami: Just a drunken idea. This question has been asked a thousand times before.
The Truth is that we can't remember. Me and Jaska were medicating ourselves at my place and the name just came up.
Jaska: I guess thereīs some sort of drunken philosophy behind it.

MZ666:Tell me about your band - How long have you been together, how did you all meet, etc?
Sami: As i said we are all childhood friends, but Me, Jyrki and Ville started to play together on the 1999,
on various projects that were not so good. after those projects we wanted to do brutal and very
rhytmic style of metal. We asked Jaska to join the band and there it was.
Our band is basicly a punch of friends having a great time.

MZ666: How would you best describe your style of music?
Jaska: If I had to tell someone who doesnīt understand much about metal iīd say itīs a Sepultura/Pantera hybrid.
I am not the best person to say into which sub-genre of metal we belong. Some say we sound like Korn(?), others say we are like
In Flames (???). I think itīs best to let the listeners decide.
Sami: i would say that we are a metal band, But because people like to categorize everything I would say that we are
Trash/Metalcore band with a twist. We ain't no Fuckin' melodic-delay/chorus-wanna-be-heavy-band that's for sure.
This is pure fuckin' energy.

MZ666: What would be your ultimate gig line-up?
Sami: Our band!
Jaska: If I could choose Iīd dump these motherfuckers in a nanosecond. Devin Townsend on vocals and guitar, Max Cavalera on 2nd guitar(attitude!),
Andols Herrick (Ex-chimaira) on drums, and Santtu from Mokoma on the bass.

MZ666: Who writes your lyrics, music and what subjects do they deal with?
Sami: Me, Jyrki and Ville have written all the songs for now.
Jaska: I am usually responsible for the lyrics, though others have contributed to them as well.
The lyrics often revolve around simple mans problems such as dealing with alcoholism, drug-issues and just being angry with
the general state of ones life. I try not to be political but sometimes I just canīt fuckin help it. The world is a fucked-up place these days.

MZ666:What is your favorite song to perform? Why?
Sami: Crushed and Scarred Land. Both songs just give me a great wibe.
Jaska: Iīd have to say Re-hab is for quitters and our brand new song Glory in vain (coming next summer!). They are both aggressive
songs with a couple of breaks so I donīt have to shout all the time.

MZ666:Anyone in your band self taught or went to music school?
Sami: We are all self taught. Tommi teaches bass palying in various places.

MZ666:How many releases do you have out right now?
Sami: four: Instrument of Destruction(2001), Souls for Sale(2002), Two years of Downhill(2003) and Promote Chaos(2004).
We are heading to studio this summer to record our next EP and it will be a mindblower. Seriously! We have four new songs
ready allready and they are the best songs that we have ever written. So stay tuned and visit our website, 'cause there will be
some sneak previews during this spring!!!

MZ666:Out of the 3 releases ID:Excorcist has what is your best one?
Sami: we have four releases by the way. Promote Chaos is the best so far... Every record has been better than the last one.
Jaska: I totally agree!

MZ666:Anything you guys do before a show to get pumped up?
Jaska: We spend some time together just chillinī and getting ready for the show. Sometimes a few beers, sometimes a few more. It usually
is a pain in the ass to wait 4-5 hours after the sound check before entering the stage, because you know theres a shitload of beer in the backstage
with your name on it.
Sami: Re-hab is for quitters!

MZ666:What was your most memorable show? Why?
Sami: Saturday Night Cancer in Kokkola because the overall trip was absolutely awesome.
Jaska: Playing in your hometown is always nice. Iīd have to say some of our gigs in our local heavy-bar, Samīs Pub, would take the first price.

MZ666:We Lost a great guitar player a few months ago(Dimebag)in a traggic death,Has this at all changed your minds about playing out live?
Sami: First of all: I like send my condolences to the Abbott Family. Dimebag was a great inspiration for me and Jyrki, there is no words
to describe the sorrow that I feel. Rest in Piece Dime!
It hasn't changed my way to live life. If we start to live in fear then we are allready dead.

MZ666:What are some of your  favorite place's to play?
Sami: Everyplace, there is never too much gigs. But if i have to new one it would be Sam's Pub in our hometown.
Jaska: I would like to play in the States if someone would cover the expenses (hint, hint).

MZ666:Do you have any advice for people starting a band?
Sami: Rehearse and rehearse, over and over again. Have fun, 'cause in the end that what it is all about.
If you don't have fun, theres something wrong in the band. You have to get along with other band mates outside the training facilities.

MZ666:What is your impression of the Metal music scene/Both in Finland and the US?
Sami: Finnish metal scene awesome. Best players and the best bands... Most of our influences have come from the US and there are lot
of great new bands there.
Jaska: Finnish metal truly kicks ass! There are lot of fine young bands from every genre of metal representing Finland all over the world,
though most of the bands I like to listen to still come from the US.

MZ666:Who are some of the influences on your band?
Sami: Sepultura, Pantera, Machine Head, Soulfly, Hatebreed, Spineshank and Mokoma(finnish trash metal band).

MZ666: Thanks for the interview. (You can hear more of This band in our link section.Stay Metal,Stay Brutal . Any last comments for our readers?
Sami: Thank you. Go and checkout our website: http://www.idexorcist.com Download some tunes and tell us what you think.
Jaska: Thanks a lot and we'll see you all when we are touring the US with Metallica ;) !!!

MZ666:Just for laughs and giggles,If you could make a female cartoon come to life to have sex with which one would you choose and why?(LOL)
Sami: Fuck! i like real women, not cartoon bitches!
Jaska: I would like to make Daisy Duck squeal.
